FLUX 3 Max prompts

A FLUX 3 Max prompt is a short written brief that tells the FLUX 3 Max video model what to show and what it should sound like: the style, the subject, one main action, the camera and the sound. Below are 22 copy-ready prompts in 9 categories, each with the length, aspect ratio and mode to use, and one click to open it in the editor.

Each prompt is our rewrite, for FLUX 3 Max, of a MiniMax Hailuo prompt that did well on X; the original post is linked on every card. We have not run these on FLUX 3 Max yet, so each card says so until we add a real result.

The FLUX 3 Max prompt formula

Write the style first, then the subject, one main action, the camera and the sound. fal notes for FLUX 3 that one clear action is easier than several at once, and that quiet scenes are the most likely to come back with little sound[fal], which is why every prompt here ends with what you should hear.

PartWhat to writeExample
StyleThe look, once, at the startPhotoreal fantasy war film, 35mm, cold overcast light
SubjectWho or what, with one or two concrete detailsA lone knight in dented steel armor
ActionOne main action, and what it causesraises a longsword; lightning strikes the blade
CameraOne named move or framingSlow-motion low-angle push-in
SoundWhat you want to hear, in orderRolling thunder, an electric crack, wind

Before and after: the same idea, written for FLUX 3 Max

Before

A car drifting on a mountain road at sunset, drone shot, epic, cinematic.

After

Car commercial, golden hour, glossy and crisp. A dark green coupe drifts through a hairpin bend on a mountain pass, rear tires throwing up dust as the low sun flashes across its paint. Aerial drone shot orbiting the car through the bend, then rising to reveal the valley. Sound: engine roaring through the gears, tire squeal, gravel spraying, wind.

  • The style comes first, so it frames everything after it.
  • There is one main action (the drift) instead of a list of things happening.
  • The camera move is named once: orbit, then rise.
  • It asks for sound. FLUX 3 Max generates audio from the prompt, so a prompt without sound leaves the soundtrack to chance.
  • The length (8 s) and aspect ratio (16:9) are chosen for the shot, not left at the defaults.

Cinematic action prompts

Blockbuster moments built around one big action and a camera that commits to it.

Knight calls down the lightning

  • Text to video
  • 10 s
  • 16:9
  • Sound on

Photoreal fantasy war film, 35mm, cold overcast light. A lone knight in dented steel armor stands in a burned-out battlefield and slowly raises a longsword to the sky; a bolt of blue lightning strikes the blade and cracks race across the ground around her boots, lifting loose stones into the air. Slow-motion low-angle push-in toward the knight. Sound: rolling thunder, a sharp electric crack on the strike, stones grinding, wind whistling through the ruins.

Why it works: One action (raise the sword) with one consequence (the strike), so the model has a clear beginning and payoff inside 10 seconds.

Dive off the catwalk

  • Text to video
  • 8 s
  • 16:9
  • Sound on

Gritty action thriller, handheld, desaturated teal and orange. In a crumbling steel mill, an agent in black tactical gear sprints along a narrow metal catwalk as a fireball bursts behind him, then dives off the edge and the shot drops into slow motion, his jacket flaring mid-air. The camera runs alongside him, slightly shaky. Sound: boots pounding on metal, a deep explosion, debris clattering, the roar dulling to a muffled heartbeat during the dive.

Why it works: The original packs four shots into one prompt; this keeps the run and the dive and lets the sound mark the switch to slow motion.

Squad walks out of the smoke

  • Text to video
  • 10 s
  • 21:9
  • Sound on

War-film realism, dusk, heavy grey smoke. Five soldiers walk out of a wall of smoke toward the camera in a steady line while the building behind them burns and its top floor collapses. Slow crane shot descending from rooftop height to eye level. Sound: crackling fire, a long collapsing rumble, boots on gravel, distant sirens.

Why it works: A crane move gives scale for free; the collapse is background action, so the main subject (the squad) stays stable.

Courier runs through a falling city

  • Text to video
  • 8 s
  • 16:9
  • Sound on

Cyberpunk sci-fi, neon magenta and cyan, night rain. A courier in a glowing jacket sprints down a city street as a tower crumbles behind her, swerving around falling chunks of concrete while shockwaves ripple the puddles. Tracking shot from behind at shoulder height, keeping pace with her. Sound: heavy breathing, crashing concrete, buzzing neon signs, a low sub-bass rumble.

Why it works: The camera follows from behind, so the runner fills the frame and the destruction can be loose without breaking the shot.

Aerial and vehicles prompts

Drone moves and fast vehicles, where the camera path does most of the work.

Mountain drift at golden hour

  • Text to video
  • 8 s
  • 16:9
  • Sound on

Car commercial, golden hour, glossy and crisp. A dark green coupe drifts through a hairpin bend on a mountain pass, rear tires throwing up dust as the low sun flashes across its paint. Aerial drone shot orbiting the car through the bend, then rising to reveal the valley. Sound: engine roaring through the gears, tire squeal, gravel spraying, wind.

Why it works: An orbit around a moving car is the classic drone shot; naming the light (low sun on the paint) is what makes it look like an ad.

Fighter jets and the sea monster

  • Text to video
  • 10 s
  • 21:9
  • Sound on

Blockbuster sci-fi, overcast sea, high contrast. Two fighter jets skim low over the ocean when a colossal glowing sea creature bursts up between them, throwing a wall of white water into the sky; the jets bank hard left and right to avoid it. Fast aerial tracking shot just behind the jets. Sound: jet engines screaming past, a thunderous splash, the creature’s deep roar, water raining down.

Why it works: The reveal happens in the middle of the clip, which leaves time for both the set-up and the reaction.

Cargo ship in a night storm

  • Text to video
  • 10 s
  • 16:9
  • Sound on

Hyper-real documentary look, night storm at sea. A drone skims low over huge black waves as lightning lights up the water, then rises to reveal a container ship rolling heavily, its deck lights flickering. Rain streaks across the lens. Sound: howling wind, waves slamming the hull, thunder, creaking steel.

Why it works: Rain on the lens and flickering lights are small details that sell realism more than adjectives like “epic”.

POV and chase prompts

First-person and tracking shots that put the viewer inside the motion.

Cliff jump on skis, first person

  • Text to video
  • 6 s
  • 16:9
  • Sound on

Action-camera POV, bright alpine morning, slight fisheye. First-person view from a skier’s helmet as they launch off a snowy cliff, turn once in the air with the valley spinning below, and land in deep powder in a burst of snow. Sound: wind rushing loudly, a sharp exhale at takeoff, a soft thump on landing, skis hissing through snow.

Why it works: Saying where the camera is mounted (a helmet) keeps a POV shot from drifting into a third-person view.

Chased through an enchanted forest

  • Text to video
  • 8 s
  • 16:9
  • Sound on

Dark fairy-tale film, blue fog, faint golden particles in the air. A girl in a red hooded cloak runs through an ancient forest, ducking low branches and jumping tangled roots as if something is following her. Fast Steadicam tracking shot weaving between the trees just behind her, branches whipping past the lens. Sound: her quick breathing, snapping twigs, rustling leaves, a low growl somewhere behind.

Why it works: The threat is only heard, never shown: sound carries the tension, and the picture has one subject to keep consistent.

Fantasy and magic prompts

Spells, creatures and myth, kept to one readable effect per clip.

Sorcerer weaves threads of light

  • Text to video
  • 8 s
  • 16:9
  • Sound on

Painterly fantasy, misty forest at twilight. An old sorcerer in a grey robe draws glowing golden threads from his fingertips that weave into a slowly turning circle of runes in the air in front of him. The camera circles him at chest height. Sound: a soft crystalline hum rising in pitch, crackling sparks, wind in the trees.

Why it works: A magic effect described as a physical thing (threads that weave into a circle) gives the model a shape to animate.

Clockwork stag on a frozen lake

  • Text to video
  • 6 s
  • 16:9
  • Sound on

Steampunk realism, cold blue dawn. A brass clockwork stag gallops across a frozen lake, sparks spitting from its joints and its reflection bending in the ice. Fast orbit around the stag at ground level. Sound: metallic hoofbeats on ice, ticking gears, hissing steam, ice cracking faintly.

Why it works: Short and concrete: material (brass), place (frozen lake), one motion (gallop) and one camera move.

The phoenix mask (20 seconds)

  • Text to video
  • 20 s
  • 21:9
  • Sound on

Eastern dark-fantasy film, midnight, blood-red moon, orange firelight and drifting embers. On a round stone altar in a ruined temple, a warrior woman in black-and-red armor with a long red cape lifts an antique bronze phoenix mask to her face; the moment it touches her skin, every torch around the altar ignites at once and a giant phoenix made of flame rises behind her and spreads its wings across the sky. Slow push-in to her calm face, then a fast crane up to reveal the phoenix. Sound: deep war drums, a sudden roar of fire, wind, a piercing bird cry.

Why it works: Uses the full 20 seconds: a slow build, one trigger (the mask), one payoff (the phoenix). The original was a multi-shot script; this is one continuous take.

Anime prompts

Hand-drawn looks with quiet, atmospheric action and weather.

Empty festival in the rain

  • Text to video
  • 10 s
  • 16:9
  • Sound on

Hand-drawn anime, soft watercolor backgrounds, evening rain. A girl in a navy yukata walks alone through an empty summer-festival street under paper lanterns swaying in the wind; she stops at a goldfish stall and crouches to watch the fish. The camera follows her from the side, then holds on the stall. Sound: steady rain on her umbrella, lanterns creaking, a distant wind chime.

Why it works: Quiet scenes suit anime styles: little motion, lots of atmosphere, and the sound does the storytelling.

Standing still in the crosswalk

  • Text to video
  • 8 s
  • 9:16
  • Sound on

Anime film style, muted blue palette, heavy rain. A boy in a school blazer stands motionless in the middle of a busy crosswalk, soaked, while colorful umbrellas stream past him in both directions. The camera rises straight up into a top-down crane shot. Sound: pouring rain, splashing footsteps, a crossing signal beeping, muffled city traffic.

Why it works: Stillness against motion reads instantly on a phone screen, which is why this one is vertical.

Swordswoman at sunset

  • Text to video
  • 10 s
  • 21:9
  • Sound on

Cinematic anime, warm sunset, drifting cherry blossoms. A teenage swordswoman stands on the edge of a broken cliff above a ruined city, her uniform and hair whipping in the wind; wings of pale light slowly unfold behind her as she grips her katana. Slow pull-back to a wide shot as petals swirl past the lens. Sound: strong wind, rustling petals, a low rising choir note.

Why it works: The pull-back ends on a wide shot, so the last frame works as a poster or thumbnail.

Product ads prompts

Studio product shots: one slow move, clean light, no hands.

Headphones hero shot

  • Text to video
  • 10 s
  • 16:9
  • Sound on

Premium tech commercial, black studio, controlled reflections, shallow depth of field. Matte silver over-ear headphones rotate slowly on a glossy black pedestal while a thin band of light sweeps across the ear cushions and the metal hinges. Start on an extreme macro of the cushion fabric, pull back to a three-quarter hero view, and finish with a slow dolly-in. No hands, no on-screen text. Sound: a soft bass pulse and a clean synth swell timed to the light sweep.

Why it works: The original split 15 seconds into four timed beats; one continuous camera path is the safer request for a single take.

UGC and selfie video prompts

Phone-style clips for social ads, starting from your own product photo.

Burger night selfie review

  • Image to video
  • 8 s
  • 9:16
  • Sound on

Start from: A phone selfie of a person holding your product (here, a closed burger box) in a kitchen.

Authentic UGC selfie video, phone front camera, warm kitchen light, handheld. The young woman from the photo holds up the burger box to the camera, opens it, lifts the burger with the cheese stretching and takes a big bite, then grins and nods. Sound: room tone, the cardboard lid opening, a crunchy bite, and her saying “okay, this is so good” with her mouth half full.

Why it works: Starting from your own photo keeps the product and the person exactly as they are; the prompt only adds the action and the line.

Faces and emotions prompts

Close-ups where the whole clip is one change of expression.

Pure joy at the parade

  • Text to video
  • 6 s
  • 16:9
  • Sound on

Natural documentary portrait, bright afternoon sun, shallow depth of field. Close-up of a seven-year-old boy watching a parade go by; his eyes widen, a grin spreads across his face and he bounces on his toes, laughing. The camera holds still at his eye level, colorful floats blurred behind him. Sound: a marching band, a cheering crowd, his delighted laugh.

Why it works: Emotion is written as visible steps (eyes widen, grin, bounce), not as a label like “happy”.

A smile that turns to anger

  • Text to video
  • 8 s
  • 1:1
  • Sound on

Dramatic portrait, single warm key light, dark background. Extreme close-up of a man in his forties: a relaxed smile slowly fades, his eyes narrow, his brows draw together and his jaw tightens until his face is hard and angry. Locked-off camera with a very slow push-in. Sound: quiet room tone, a clock ticking, his breathing getting heavier.

Why it works: A change of expression is easier to read than a held one, and a locked-off camera keeps the face stable while it changes.

A single tear by the window

  • Text to video
  • 8 s
  • 4:3
  • Sound on

Soft window light, muted colors, fine film grain. Mid-shot of a young woman sitting by a rainy window, eyes lowered; a single tear rolls down her cheek and she presses her lips together, hands clasped tightly in her lap. Static camera. Sound: rain against the glass, a faint distant train, one shaky breath.

Why it works: Small physical details (clasped hands, pressed lips) carry more feeling than a close-up of the tear alone.

Comedy and dialogue prompts

Short scenes with a punchline or a spoken line.

The very serious cat barista

  • Text to video
  • 10 s
  • 16:9
  • Sound on

3D animated family-film look, warm café light, realistic fur. A small grey cat in a tiny apron works the espresso machine behind a café counter with total seriousness, struggles to tip a milk pitcher bigger than itself, gets a blob of foam on its nose and slides the cup to a customer anyway. Static medium shot at counter height. Sound: espresso machine hissing, the milk steamer whining, cups clinking, one proud little meow.

Why it works: Comedy comes from a straight face plus one small failure; a static camera lets the timing play out.

Office meeting, mockumentary style

  • Text to video
  • 10 s
  • 16:9
  • Sound on

Single-camera mockumentary sitcom, flat fluorescent office light, slightly soft consumer-camera look. In a cramped conference room, an over-excited manager taps a messy whiteboard and says, “Big news, everyone: our printers now run on AI.” Nobody reacts. The camera snap-zooms to a bored accountant doing a crossword, who looks up and says flatly, “Does it fix the paper jams?” Handheld documentary camera with quick reframes. Sound: fluorescent buzz, a marker squeak, the two spoken lines, then an awkward silence.

Why it works: Two short spoken lines in quotes, each tied to a person on screen. The original used characters from a real TV show; we wrote original ones.

How we adapted MiniMax prompts for FLUX 3 Max

MiniMax Hailuo prompts translate well in what they show, less so in how they are structured. These are the changes we made to every prompt on this page.

Timed beats (“0–4 s: macro shot, 4–8 s: hero view…”), common in MiniMax H3 prompts

One continuous camera path in plain words. We have not tested how closely FLUX 3 Max follows timestamps, so the prompts here do not rely on them.

Character sheets and several reference images

FLUX 3 Max on Flux3Max takes a first frame, or a first and a last frame. Put the character in your starting image instead.

Multi-shot scripts of 30 seconds or more

One take of 5 to 20 seconds. Split a script into separate clips and join them in an editor.

Real people and characters from TV shows

Original characters. Prompts that name real people can be refused, and our terms do not allow deceptive videos of them.

When these prompts will not get you there

  • Stories longer than 20 seconds in one clip: FLUX 3 Max makes one take of 5 to 20 seconds.
  • The same character across many clips: there is no character reference here beyond the image you start from.
  • Readable text, logos and captions inside the video: we have not tested lettering, so add text afterwards in an editor.
  • Exact lip sync to a script you recorded: you cannot upload audio; the speech is generated with the picture.

Questions about FLUX 3 Max prompts

What makes a good FLUX 3 Max prompt?

A good FLUX 3 Max prompt is a short brief in five parts: style, subject, one main action, the camera, and the sound. fal notes for FLUX 3 that several coordinated actions at once are harder than one clear action, and that quiet scenes can come back with little sound, so name one action and say what you want to hear.

Do MiniMax Hailuo prompts work on FLUX 3 Max?

Partly. The scene, the camera move and the mood carry over, but MiniMax-specific habits do not: timed beats, character sheets and multi-shot scripts longer than 20 seconds. The prompts on this page are rewritten for FLUX 3 Max, with sound added to each one.

Have these prompts been tested on FLUX 3 Max?

Not yet. They are new rewrites, and each card says “Not yet run on FLUX 3 Max” until we add a real result for that exact prompt. For videos that were made with FLUX 3 Max, see the examples page.

How long should a FLUX 3 Max prompt be?

The prompts here run from about 50 to 110 words, and the editor accepts up to 2,000 characters. Longer is not better: a prompt that lists many actions is harder to follow than one that describes a single action well.

Can I put dialogue in a FLUX 3 Max prompt?

Yes. Sound is generated with the picture, so write the spoken line in quotes and say who says it, as in the office mockumentary prompt. Keep it to one or two short lines per clip; you cannot upload your own voice track.

Can I use these prompts for commercial work?

Yes. We wrote these prompts and you can copy, change and use them freely, with no credit needed. The original posts are linked on each card as the inspiration; their wording is not reproduced here.
